LUMA - What's On Your Radar?

The Radar Method helps you visualize and manage priorities over time. It's about what deserves your attention *now* versus what's on the horizon. Draw concentric circles, like radar. The center is for urgent items, the outer rings for the future. It gives teams a shared view of priorities.

Participants will:

  • Visualize time-based priorities.

  • Track emerging issues.

  • Sharpen focus.

  • Communicate project status.

  • Plan proactively.

  • Align team priorities.

  • Visual representation of priorities and concerns.

  • Shared understanding of key issues.

  • A foundation for aligning on what to tackle.

Defining the timeframes for each ring is key. Review the radar regularly. Tracking items that move inward highlights escalating issues. Don't let items sit in the center ring without action.

  1. Draw concentric circles resembling a radar screen.

  2. Define what each ring represents in terms of time (e.g., 'Now,' 'Next Month,' 'Later').

  3. Brainstorm and list all relevant items, issues, or tasks.

  4. Place each item on the radar according to its urgency and timeframe.

  5. Discuss the placement of each item as a team.

  6. Adjust positions based on the discussion and consensus.

  7. Note any items that move between rings over time. This shows changing priorities.

  8. Plan actions for items in the center rings.

  9. Update the radar regularly to reflect new information and changing priorities.
