Ideation And Solution Exploration

You've defined the problem; now, it's time to generate solutions. This focused 60-minute ideation session helps teams quickly move from problem understanding to exploring solution possibilities. Expect 30-50 solution ideas through structured brainstorming.

Participants will generate 30-50 diverse solution ideas, avoid premature convergence on obvious solutions, build from individual ideas to group elaboration, and cluster ideas into themes for evaluation.
Participants will explore the solution space thoroughly, generate diverse solution concepts, and create a foundation for concept development.
During idea generation, defer judgment. Push participants to generate a high volume of ideas. Encourage building on existing ideas rather than critiquing them. Sometimes the clustering can be messy; don't worry about perfection.

  1. Problem Review (5 min): Clearly restate the problem.

  2. Individual Ideation (15 min): Each participant silently generates ideas.

  3. Sharing Round (15 min): Participants present ideas and build on each other's concepts.

  4. Group Ideation (15 min): Collaborative idea development.

  5. Clustering (10 min): Group related ideas together.
