AFT-Optimal Futures

In the third phase of Actionable Futures, we build the world we want, drawing on the previous phases. We'll focus on the future but bring the narrative towards concrete questions. Consider: How do our futures manifest today, tomorrow, and beyond? First, write down ideas for the futures we want. These act as seeds for concepts. Be as wild as you like. Next, explore a five-star future. What does the optimal future look like? What's a one-star version? What's a good MVP? Define success at each stage. Then, map your five-star futures on an urgency matrix. Which are most important to your organization and industry's future? Which are high value and low cost? Finally, define your north stars.
