Focus on storytelling over artistic skill. Context and emotion are key. Maintain consistent panel style. Show cause and effect. Consider multiple scenarios. Test comprehension with users. Photos work well, but simple sketches are great too.

  1. Define the user story.

  2. Identify key moments.

  3. Plan 6-12 frames.

  4. For each frame, sketch:

  • The user and their context.

  • Actions.

  • Emotions.

  • Environment.

  • Touchpoints.

  1. Add captions.

  2. Include thought bubbles.

  3. Show time progression.

  4. Highlight pain points or delight.

  5. Keep drawings simple.

  6. Review continuity.

  7. Get team feedback.

  8. Refine based on insights.
