Every problem is a design opportunity. Frame challenges as "How Might We" questions to drive innovative solutions. This exercise, adapted from the LUMA collection, reframes problems into actionable opportunities.

The goal is to transform insight statements into open-ended questions. These questions should suggest multiple approaches and guide brainstorming.

  • "How Might We" questions ready for ideation.

  • Reframed challenges ready for brainstorming.

  • A solid foundation for solution generation.

Use these questions to kick off brainstorming. Test the questions by generating quick solutions. Refine if they are too broad or restrictive. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, a question just doesn't spark ideas – it happens.

  1. Review existing insight statements. Organize by themes or priority.

  2. Rephrase insights as "How Might We" questions. Focus on opportunities, not problems.

  3. Evaluate questions. Ensure they allow multiple solutions but aren't too broad or narrow.

  4. Test questions. Quickly generate 5-10 solutions to validate question quality. It's okay if some questions need further refinement.
